Naomi S. Kida is perhaps the first Japino to make it to the finals of Miss Universe-Japan. Born in Tondo, Manila, in June 1988, she made it to the Top 5 of the beauty contest in Tokyo on June 17, 2011.

Naomi is the daughter of Cristina Rivera Santiaguel of Imus, Cavite and Masami Kida, president of a cement production company.

Fluent in Japanese, English and Filipino, Naomi regularly visits the Philippines and stays in Almanza, Las Piñas, with her aunt.

MAIKO ITAI – Miss Universe Japan 2010

When Maiko Itai’s name was called out as 2010 Miss Universe Japan at the final in March, a roar erupted from the audience in the gallery – 40 of her friends had turned up to wish the 25-year-old well on the big night. “Actually, I didn’t say anything to my friends about the contest until I was a finalist,” says Itai, sitting down for a chat in the offices of Miss Universe Japan. “When I heard my friends yelling my name, I felt so confident that I could stand on the world stage.”

Keiko Tsuji – Miss Universe Japan 2014

Keiko Tsuji was born on October 9, 1993 in Okinawa, Japan. From a young age, she enjoyed swimming and karate. She joined the karate club after entering junior high school in 2004 and went on to represent Okinawa in national competitions. Keiko has also served as the captain of her karate club.

In 2010, she entered Nagasaki International University. She majored in nutritional science to learn about the importance of the body and dietary health as well as the wonders of Japanese food. In her first year of college, she ranked first in the Kyushu karate competition. She achieved third in the national competition. Now she is continuing her university studies, while aiming to become Miss Universe.

Riyo Mori

Born on December 24, 1986, Riyo Mori is a titleholder for a Japanese beauty pageant. She was born in Aoi-ku, Shizuoka, Japan. Riyo Mori is known best for her dancing skills. She started working on her dancing moves at the early age of 4. In 2007, Riyo won the prestigious Miss Universe by Zuleyka Rivera. This young lady plans to open a multicultural dance school in Tokyo. Mori started her acting debut with Donald Trump‘s MTV reality show Pageant Place. She participated in this show along with Rachel Smith, Katie Blair and Hilary Cruz.
